Software-defined video solutions provider Elemental Technologies is to highlight video production, distribution and monetisation advancements at IBC – both on-premises and in the cloud – to help video providers address the changes sweeping the media and entertainment industry.
The company’s focus will be on what Elemental describes as the “unique ability” of software-defined video (SDV) to seamlessly integrate end-to-end video workflows from source to display device.
Innovations to be highlighted include: high-quality HEVC 4K p60 4:2:2 10-bit encoding; 8K video processing in the cloud; live VR content ingest and processing; dynamic ad insertion; live channel playout, both on-premise and from the cloud; deep integration with Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (‘S3’) for file-to-live workflows; and SDI over IP – implemented with SMPTE 2022-6 for efficient transport of real-time media over IP networks.
Elemental’s video delivery capabilities will also be demonstrated, including: digital video broadcast solutions; high dynamic range (HDR); and content playout via Amazon’s CloudFront CDN.
As part of the IBC technical papers program in the main conference, Lionel Bringuier, Director of Product Management at Elemental, will also deliver a paper entitled “Increasing Ad Personalisation with Server-Side Ad Insertion”.
Elemental Technologies is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) company, and the two companies will be exhibiting on the same stand at IBC.
