Security specialist Conax, part of the Kudelski Group, will be launching a new modular multiscreen service at IBC called Conax Arena, which will feature the latest in robust security for advanced hybrid STB solutions, and introduce Conax Media Service – an all-in-one platform for digital content file management, storage and distribution (which includes NexGuard secure watermarking).
Conax is keeping its cards close to its chest on the new Arena product, saying only that it will be both on-premise and cloud-capable, will feature ‘pre-integrated partner technology’ and provide flexibility for ‘robust multiscreen operations’ as well as a ‘sustainable competitive edge’. More details will be given at a briefing scheduled for September 15th.
Other demonstrations will feature ‘robust, secure hybrid STBs’ using advanced middleware solutions from partners including ADB and Mirada. In this respect, Conax says it is able to offer a wide range of STB solutions including Android TV, RDK and others.
Also on display will be Media Asset Management (MAM) services using its new Conax Media Service, based on sister Kudelski company’s DVnor’s ‘highly automated all-in-one platform’ – which offers metadata and digital-content file management, transcoding, storage, distribution and post-production services. This includes end-to-end secure watermarking in association with another Kudelski company, NexGuard, which meets the strict MovieLabs security requirements for premium 4K/UHD content.
