Sweden’s largest commercial broadcaster, TV4, has chosen Yospace’s dynamic advertising insertion solution to monetise live channels on its TV everywhere platform, TV4 Play. The system is available on iOS and Android devices, and is launching across HTML5 for web this month. This is the first use of server-side DAI for live (online) channels in Sweden.
TV4 has 2.5 million registered viewers for its online service today. The broadcaster and Yospace have been working together since 2014 for server-side DAI into catch-up content. Now the technology is being used to open up new inventory across live streams. TV4 has previously relied on limited pre-roll advertising opportunities to monetise live.
“We were looking for a solution to transform our broadcasting business into the digital age and Yospace provides us with key technology to achieve that,” comments Marcus Lindén, Head of Development & Integrations at Bonnier Broadcasting (which owns TV4). “Yospace was also a good fit in our best of breed strategy and proved themselves to be a nicely crafted ‘puzzle-piece’ into how we want to build our software stack.”
