YouTube has announced its first original, advertising-supported programme in EMEA with the commission of an unscripted series that follows footballers as they relax off the field. Called ‘Training Days’ and fronted by UK comedian and actor Jack Whitehall, the programme will show the stars “relaxed and having a laugh”. Produced by Fulwell 73, the London/Los Angeles production company behind CBS’s ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, the show airs exclusively on YouTube in Spring 2018.
YouTube has already aired some original shows in the U.S. including ‘Katy Perry Witness Worldwide’ in June, which has garnered 50 million views from 190 countries. For EMEA, ‘Training Days’ will give audiences “an exclusive insight into the real lives of some of their favourite superstar footballers, to find out what makes them tick on and off the pitch,” YouTube says.
