CANAL+ Group using unified content protection solution for broadcast, streamed and whole-home 4K viewing

CANAL+ Group has revealed that its new 4K Ultra HD service will use the NAGRA CONNECT content protection solution, which is designed for hybrid and connected environments. The 4K service is available via the new CANAL+G9 set-top boxes over satellite, and via streaming to multiscreen devices. NAGRA CONNECT protects the content in both these domains, including during whole-home viewing. Among other things, the G9 set-top box enables premium TV viewing in every room, improved performance and stability in the user experience.

NAGRA points out that its CONNECT solution is designed for the multi-network, multi-device, and multi-use requirements of the most advanced Pay TV operators. The product reduces the cost and complexity of content security operators, the vendor says.
