The Connies are the definitive awards to champion innovation across the television and media ecosystem and include categories for ‘Video Technology Hero’, ‘Best TV/Video Service Update or Launch’, ‘Contribution to User Experience – TV & Video’, ‘Connected Agency of the Year’, ‘Connected Media Owner of the Year’ and ‘Best Use of Connected Data’. If you have been working on an innovative project, this is your chance to let the world know about it – but all entries must be received by Friday, February 16.
The Connies provide wide publicity for all the companies that are shortlisted or go on to win a category – including for the Grand Prix ‘winner of winners’. The shortlists are published on Videonet, which has a readership across Europe and North America, and Mediatel Newsline, which has a large and loyal following across the UK media sector. Both magazines report on the winners and their projects or solutions. You can link to the 2017 coverage at the bottom of this story.
The Connies awards lunch is where advertising meets TV and tech and they are a celebration of the talent and vision in our industry – and a chance to catch up with old friends in a relaxed atmosphere at The Banking Hall, a prestigious venue in the City of London. If you win, you get a trophy to show off in your reception (which always looks good when recruiting!).
Previous winners include Freeview Australia for its ‘One click live TV on the go’ service, YouView for its Next Generation YouView TV experience, RadiumOne/the7stars for the ITV AdSync+ solution that connects live TV and online sharing, and ITV, which won ‘Best Research Project/Initiative’ for ‘ITV Second Screen – the science behind programme apps’ (working with Neuro-Insight). You can see the full list of 2017 winners here.
Make sure the world knows you are pioneers, showing off your Connies win, as ITV did here.
