ANGA COM opens its doors June 12-14 with a record 500 exhibitors booked and hopes of exceeding the 19,000 visitors seen in 2017. Earlier this decade the Cologne event grew beyond its original German and cable focus to become a valuable exhibition and conference covering TV (including multiscreen) distribution for Europe. One of the highlights is the CTO panel, which this year brings together the technology leaders at TDC Group, Com Hem, Liberty Global, Vodafone Deutschland and Tele Columbus.
Speaking about the record exhibitor count, Dr Peter Charissé, Managing Director of ANGA COM, says: “We have felt a strong tailwind during our last weeks of preparation. Our visitors can expect tons of product innovations.”
Although internationally focused, ANGA COM is an opportunity to catch up on developments in the German market and day two of the conference programme includes ‘The German Broadband and Media Summit’, which focuses on the challenges and opportunities for media companies and broadband providers in a country where a traditional reluctance to pay for content is breaking down. Senior executives from ProSiebenSat.1 Media, Vodafone Deutschland, Sky Deutschland, Unitymedia and Deutsche Telekom are on that panel.
In total, there are 34 panels across the three-day event and they include ‘EU Regulatory Update: Copyright Law’ in cooperation with Cable Europe. You can see the full conference programme here.
Charissé says: “The broadband and media markets have never developed faster than now. With 500 exhibitors and an upgraded conference programme, ANGA COM will further intensify its leadership role in Europe. Whether business, technology, politics or regulation, it is covered. In Cologne, you can get yourself up-to-date regarding broadband roll-out or media distribution.”
