Belgacom launches TV Everywhere
Belgacom has introduced a TV Everywhere offer, enabling customers to watch TV on a tablet or smartphone (via Wi-Fi at home or outside the home, and via 3G within Belgium), as well as the TV set. The company will make PC/laptop viewing available during July. The Belgacom TV Everywhere App is now available on Android and is going through approvals with Apple. The service includes the chance to personalize the TV guide, while Belgacom TV customers can perform remote programming for TV recordings.
All Belgacom TV customers are being offered TV Everywhere free until the full commercial launch in October. Even the movies-on-demand are included in the free offer during what is being described as a trial phase. Customers who have subscribed to an ‘Internet On GSM’ or Mobile Internet option can watch TV free on 3G for one hour per month but otherwise the free viewing depends on their data package.
