Amidst all the glamour and innovation at CES 2012, U.S. satellite operator DISH Network has provided what amounts to the best demonstration of how to change the lives for Joe Average watching multichannel TV on Tuesday night after work. On the company’s new Hopper whole-home HD DVR, there is a ‘Remote control locator’ button. When pressed, the device uses ZigBee wireless communication to ask the remote control to make itself known, and the remote then beeps and flashes from wherever it is hiding.
