Belgian telecoms provider Proximus began rolling out Netflix to its Proximus TV subscribers on December 16th, the first Belgian operator to do so. The TV version of the service is accessed by pressing the “on demand” button of the Proximus TV decoder remote control and selecting “movies” or “series” in the menu. Once subscribed, customers will be able to start a movie or series on their TV, computer, smartphone or tablet and continue playback on any other device. The integration of Netflix on Proximus TV decoders “will last a few months,” says Belgacom-owned Proximus, in what it calls “a gradual deployment”. It will take place automatically through a download: customers will not have to do anything. The entire Netflix catalogue will be available for €7.99 per month on a standard-definition screen and €8.99 to watch the content on two HD-quality screens simultaneously. The subscription can be cancelled at any time. Customers who wish to take out a subscription will be billed directly by Netflix, with the first month free of charge. Customers can subscribe to Netflix directly via Proximus TV, or through the website www.proximus.benetflix or via the Netflix app on Proximus TV.
