Red Arrow Studios-owned indie film distributor, Gravitas Ventures, has launched a subscription streaming service in the US, with plans to roll out globally later this summer.
Gravitas Movies offers 1,000-plus movies from film festivals and film makers spanning genres like comedy, horror, thriller, documentary, action, and drama. The ad-free offering is available for US$4.99 per-month.
“At Gravitas we have always taken pride in being a distributor that can connect the artist and the consumer. By launching our SVOD service, we are taking the next step in bringing our vast young library of films to a global audience,” said Gravitas Ventures President, Michael Murphy.
“Given the volume, diversity of programming, and refresh rate, we have one of the best value propositions in the marketplace today for fans of independent films and documentaries and plan to keep the offering fresh and new for years to come.”
The over-the-top service is available now on Comcast’s Xfinity X1 platform and on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Android TV, iOS and Android in the US, and is being powered by Float Left’s Flicast platform, JW Player, and Cleeng.
Gravitas Ventures was founded in 2006 and distributes independent feature films and documentaries. It was acquired in 2017 by Red Arrow Studios, which owns 20 production companies in seven territories and is part of ProSiebenSat.1 Media.
