Virgin Media launches new bundles and flexible TV options

Virgin Media has launched a new line-up of bundles that bring together flexible TV options with broadband, mobile and landline products.

New and existing customers can get broadband speeds of up to 500Mbps, add a mobile SIM to any broadband package, and build their own personalised TV service with a choice of new channel packs – which can be changed every month.

Virgin’s ‘Personal Picks’ TV options let viewers add up to four entertainment packs to their Player bundle: Entertainment and Drama; Entertainment and Documentaries; Entertainment and Lifestyle; and Entertainment and Sport Lite.

Each pick includes Sky One, Sky Witness, Gold HD and Comedy Central HD and a selection of channels in each of the four genres, plus box-sets. One of these picks can be added for £10 per-month, with each subsequent one priced at £7.

A dedicated Kids Pick is also available on Virgin’s Player and Full House packages for £5 per month. This includes 11 channels, such as Disney XD, Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network, as well as catch-up content and box sets.

Virgin Media’s recently appointed Chief Operating Officer, Lutz Schüler, said: “Our new Personal Picks mean viewers can tune into the shows they love, picking and mixing the best channels around with the freedom and flexibility to change them every month.

“Whether it’s binge-worthy dramas like The Walking Dead, unearthing the planet’s secrets with a dazzling documentary or making sure they’re keeping up with Kardashians, Virgin Media customers can build a top telly line-up and stay in control of the price they pay for their package.”

Virgin Media’s new top-tier bundle, V.VIP, includes 500Mbps broadband, a mobile SIM with unlimited data, text and calls, and two of Virgin’s V6 set-top boxes with more than 300 channels including Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD and BT Sport in 4K Ultra HD, and inclusive anytime landline calls.

Virgin is billing it as its “ultimate entertainment and connectivity bundle” and it is available at £99 per-month for new customers that sign up to a 12-month contract.

The company said it is also making it easier for customers to add a mobile SIM to any broadband bundle, with customers that take a mobile SIM to be rewarded with faster broadband speeds. These ‘boosted bundles’ increase from 50Mbps to 100Mbps, 100Mbps to 200Mbps and from 200Mbps to 350Mbps.

“We’re combining the UK’s fastest widely available broadband speeds with a superfast 4G mobile network that’s faster on average than Vodafone, 02, Three and Sky, and a top-notch TV line-up to give Virgin Media customers greater choice, flexibility and an unrivalled connected entertainment experience,” said Schüler.

“Whether it’s gathering the family to watch the latest blockbuster in 4K UHD or playing Fortnite on your phone, our new bundles provide seamless connectivity for the entertainment our customers and their families love – no matter where they access it.”
