Humax claims its new Humax H7 is the most advanced Android TV set-top box available, pointing to support for the AV1 video codec and HDR 10 high dynamic range, plus 24,000 DMIPS of horsepower thanks to its Broadcom-based CPU, and WiFi6 (11.ax) multi-access environment optimization technology. The latter provides an optimized environment for 4K video streaming and cloud gaming, the company explains.
Humax has recently signed a contract to develop an Android TV-based next-generation platform for a major North American telco. The customer premise equipment provider plans to launch H7 in Europe and Asia before the end of this year.
Humax is also preparing to unveil Humax E2E solutions, which it says will deliver all the related features needed for an Android TV service. This complete platform offering – tailored to each market and individual customer requirements – includes Humax’s HATS (broadcasting middleware), HAVIS (voice assistant solution), HAMS (back-end management and analysis solutions for operators), and Humax’s own UI/UX for customers using Android TV Operator Tier.
“With this innovative Android TV product and our Humax E2E solutions, Humax can quickly supply products that offer a variety of content and services to our customers, paving the way to lead the Android TV OS market,” says Jeff Kim, EVP of Worldwide Sales at Humax.
