Viaplay and Paramount have struck a content licensing agreement that will span the Nordic and Baltic regions, as well as Poland and the Netherlands. The deal will give Viaplay subscribers access to a “stellar line-up” of CBS series and popular library boxsets from The CW, Paramount Television Studios, and SHOWTIME.

Titles added to Viaplay in the Nordic and Baltic regions include CSI: Vegas, Good Sam, and the animated comedy Heartbroken. In the Nordic region, the agreement will include library boxsets such as Elementary, The Good Wife, Cheers, Madam Secretary, CSI: NY, 90210, Catch-22 and Looking for Alaska.

In Poland, Viaplay is adding Billions, Blood & Treasure, FBI: Most Wanted, The Good Fight, and Hawaii Five-0, among other titles; while in the Netherlands, the service is also including series such as Walker, Bull, Frasier, King of Queens, and Californication.

Filippa Wallestam, Chief Content Officer of Viaplay Group, said: “Paramount is one of Hollywood’s most renowned storytellers, and Viaplay viewers in ten countries can now enjoy many of the biggest and best shows from their incredible line-up with us. This volume deal secures even more high-quality streamed content for our fast-growing service, which offers a unique combination of international films and series, Viaplay Originals, kids programming and the world’s best live sports.”

Lisa Kramer, President of International Television Licensing, Paramount Global Content Distribution, commented: “We are thrilled to expand and extend our successful partnership with our friends at Viaplay. We look forward to bringing a wide selection of CBS Programming and world-class library to Viaplay’s audiences.”

Earlier this year, the Nordic streamer partnered with Lionsgate-owned Starz for its Netherlands launch. The agreement gave Viaplay’s Dutch subscribers access to all new Starzplay Originals as part of a regular subscription, as well as Starzplay’s library of content from Lionsgate and other Hollywood studios. Alongside Paramount Global Content Distribution, Viaplay has long-term contractual relationships with U.S. studios such as Sony, MGM, NBCUniversal, and more.
